Aston Martin confirmed a limited series production of its Vanquish Zagato Coupe that was originally shown as a study at last month’s Concorso d’Eleganza event at Villa d’Este in Italy.

The study was created in collaboration with Italian design-house Zagato with Aston Martin stating that after “unprecedented customer interest” during the event, a strictly limited production run of 99 cars was decided. But don’t get your hopes up, as company insiders are saying that all 99 examples have already been spoken for, despite a steep price tag of around £500,000 or about $730,000.

The fifth car to emerge from Aston’s long-time collaboration with Zagato, which stretches back over five decades, dresses the standard Vanquish with restyled, one-piece carbon fiber panels. Inspiration is said to have come from classic Zagato models as well as Aston Martin’s own Vulcan, One-77 and CC-100.

Exterior highlights include Zagato’s trademark ‘double-bubble’ roof, the sculptural rear with new round lights, wing mirrors inspired from the One-77, spoilers in naked carbon fiber and newly designed wheels.

Inside, the Vanquish Zagato gets a snazzier interior than the car it’s based on with herringbone carbon fiber paired with shadow and anodized bronze and optional aniline leather for the fascia, vents and rotary dials, two-tone leather seats and door panels with unique ‘Z’ quilt pattern stitch, while Zagato’s ‘Z’ is embossed on headrests and stitched into the center console.

Under the hood, you’ll find an upgraded version of the regular Vanquish’s 6.0L V12 powertrain that gains an extra 24hp to produce 592hp (600PS), offering a projected 0-60mph (96km/h) time of 3.5 seconds, or 0.3 seconds faster than the standard car.

Customer deliveries of the Vanquish Zagato Coupe will commence in the first quarter of 2017.
