How much more extreme and exclusive can you get with a P1? The answer might surprise you.

This, ladies and gentleman, was a track-only beast that’s now wearing street-legal clothing. Dubbed the “LM”, it’s nothing more than a P1 GTR converted for the road, with its 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 hybrid powertrain retaining the same 986-horsepower output it did on the circuit.

The vehicle’s engine was re-made to run on 99-octane gasoline, while the loss of power generated by the lesser fuel was compensated with an increase in turbo boost.

Like its track-dedicated counterpart, it comes with a 59 kg (130 lbs) weight loss over the standard variant, achieved by using an Inconel exhaust system, throwing out the air-jack system, and replacing the glass windows with plastic.

The specialist responsible for taking the car out of the racing realm is Lanzante Motorsport – a British company specialized in servicing, restoring and converting high-end automobiles for road use.

To make the P1 LM cope with ordinary driving conditions, Lanzante also fitted new front and rear wings which help increase downforce. The wheels and tires were also replaced with road-worthy alternatives, while its cockpit was trimmed in Alcantara and fitted with a new steering wheel derived from the one in Lewis Hamilton’s 2008 championship-winning McLaren MP4-23.

The best part? This isn’t Lanzante’s only street-legal P1 GTR, but it is the only one (for now) carrying the iconic “LM” moniker.
