Those of us who didn’t get to witness this remarkable gathering in person at the Goodwood Revival can watch it now on video.

The Kinrara Trophy, which is dedicated to closed-cockpit cars built before 1963, was the first race of this year’s Revival event and it delivered some brilliant head-to-head action.

We’ve seen what happens at Goodwood when drivers press the “pedal to the medal” in a few short videos, but now it’s time to watch a whole hour of racing. It’s as buttock-clenching as you think it is, especially as the cars participating are extremely rare, extremely expensive beasts that occasionally swap paint.

But it isn’t as bad as it sounds, as the automobiles are driven by top-notch drivers. A few get carried away and end up in the tire barriers, but for the most part the cars are in the hands of professionals. For instance, nine time Le Mans winner, Tom Kristensen, took the win at the wheel of a Ferrari 250 GT.

This is the only race where you’ll see five Aston Martin DB4 GTs (one of which is a Zagato) racing against nine Ferrari 250 GT SWBs, a 330 GTO and a 250 “Breadvan”. So, if you were looking for some exciting racing series, you just found it.
