Back in March we got wind of Honda registering the UR-V moniker and now, almost 8 months later, we finally get our first look at the finished product.

Styling-wise, the SUV was supposed to be based on the Concept D that was showcased during last year’s Shanghai Auto Show, and as far as we can tell, they do seem to look alike.

According to China’s Chesi and PC Auto , there’s also very little difference between the Dongfeng-Honda-built UR-V and the Avancier, another model that Honda showed off earlier this year. And it’s true, they do look very similar aside from the bonnet, grille, headlights, bumpers and rear lights.

Despite the identical wheelbase (2,820 mm/111 in), in terms of size, the UR-V is a little bit longer than the Avancier (by 9 mm/0.35 in) and slightly taller by 1 mm (0.04 in).

The two models will also go on sale separately, with the Avancier set to hit the Chinese market this month, while potential UR-V customers will have to wait until early next year.

Powering the UR-V is a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 272 HP and 370 Nm of torque, sending power to all four wheels with the help of a ZF 9-speed automatic transmission.
