While still heavily camouflaged, this prototype is more revealing than the one we saw back in January, as we can now make out clear design features such as the sleek headlights and Tiger Nose grille.

None of these come as a surprise though, especially since the Korean automaker has been trying to build sportier-looking models lately, from the new Rio all the way to the Stinger.

As for the interior, previous spy images offered us a great glimpse at the dash. We’re talking a driver-oriented console with air vents surrounding the sat-nav display, a different layout than in its Hyunda i30 sibling.

Speaking of the third-generation i30, the all-new Cee’d is expected to utilize the same petrol and diesel units as well as the same on-board tech as its Hyundai-badged brethren. This means getting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, to go with active safety features such as Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection and Lane Keeping Assist.

The 2018 Cee’d will debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September, with a Wagon model, or Sportswagon, to follow at a later date.

Aside from the Hyundai i30, the new Cee’d will also need to contend with the VW Golf, Ford Focus, Renault Megane, Peugeot 308, Opel/Vauxhall Astra, Toyota Auris, Seat Leon, Mazda3, Fiat Tipo and all-new Honda Civic.
