Unfortunately for some people, the Maserati Ghibli is way more expensive than what they’d be willing to spend on what is basically a mix between a mid-size and a full-size luxury car. It’s got a wheelbase worthy of an Audi A8, but it’s not as long as say, a Mercedes-Benz CLS.

It doesn’t have one particular rival either, especially when it comes to how much it costs. The thing about the Ghibli is that…it just exists as a luxury product, that you can either choose to buy or not, based on brand recognition.

If you’re a fan, then you’re probably thinking that no Mercedes, BMW or Audi saloon will ever compare to a four-door family car built by an exotic Italian car manufacturer, and there’s nothing wrong with thinking that.

In fact, very few people actually buy fast saloons for how fast they can go when pushed to their limit, so don’t even worry about the fact that plenty of its fast German rivals will leave it in the dust – as it can only manage a 4.8 second sprint time from 0 to 100 km/h, and that’s the 409 PS Ghibli S Q4 version.

Looks-wise, you either love it or hate it – probably. It’s hard to be indifferent when it comes to these types of Italian cars, but if you are immune to the Ghibli’s charm, then you probably don’t even want to hear about how well this set of Vossen VFS 2 polished silver wheels looks on this particular car.
