We’ve long known that the latest-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class will bring with it a raft of new engines and now it appears that they’re just a matter of months from launching.

According to German website Mercedes-Benz Passion Blog, a number of new engines will be introduced in June.

Details around these new units are minimal, but it is reported that one petrol unit will find its way into the E 250 and offer up 211 hp, suggesting it’ll likely be a turbocharged four-cylinder. Soon after, the E 300 will be unveiled with 245 hp while the E 400 4MATIC will also debut in June complete with 333 hp.

On the diesel front, both the E 200d and E 220d are tipped to debut in the middle of the year.

The new E-Class will eventually be topped out by the E63 and E63 S variants, expected to arrive in early 2017 with AMG’s latest 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 joined with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
