With overall sales surpassing the 3,000 mark for the first time, 2015 was the best year ever for Lamborghini.
The “raging bull” managed to deliver 3,245 cars last year through its 135 dealers serving 50 countries worldwide, which represents a 28 percent increase year-over-year and 2.5 times compared to 2010.
“We increased sales in all our major regions with new sales records in America and Asia Pacific”, said CEO Stephan Winkelmann. “Our biggest markets are the USA and Greater China. They are followed by Japan, UK, the Middle East and Germany, each of them registering considerable growth in 2015.”
The lion’s share belongs to the Huracan LP 610-4, of which 2,242 units were delivered in its first year of full production. Additionally, in the first 18 months after it hit the market, sales were up by 70 percent compared to its predecessor, the Gallardo, over the same time period.
In Geneva, Lamborghini will unveile the anticipated “Centenario” limited exotic, which was developed to celebrate Ferruccio Lamborghini’s 100th birthday. The supercar is estimated to carry a price tag of €2.2 million ($2,4 million), be produced in 40 units (20 coupes and 20 convertibles) and be based on the Aventador.
