Famous car collector and petrol head Jay Leno took out one of the most impressive models ever signed by the four-ring brand, the 2017 Audi R8 V10 Plus, for a spin.

The exotic is the company’s most powerful production car ever and, since it has a lot in common with its Italian cousin, the Lamborghini Huracan, it promises to take things to a whole new level and to continue what its predecessor started, which shared components with the Gallardo.

The same 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine, upgraded from the one used on the previous model, is found under its hood and is rated at 540PS (532hp), on the entry-level version, while the range-topping R8 V10 Plus has the same output as the Huracan, at 610PS (601hp), for a 0-100km/h (62mph) acceleration in 3.2 seconds and a 330km/h (205mph) top speed.

Since it shares so many things with the Huracan, it really begs the question if one should go for the Lamborghini or the Audi.
