Praised by many and seen with a lot of suspicion by BMW fans, the AMG-fettled coupe takes what is best from the sedan and throws it into a sleeker two-door body.

Unveiled during the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, the C63 AMG S Coupe is back with a new promo that focuses on those who “never stop challenging” and puts its tail-happy rear to the test once more.

Its exterior design is aggressive and yet elegant, but the most important part of the high-performance BMW M4 Coupe and Cadillac ATS-V Coupe rival is the engine, which is the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 from the AMG GT.

In the top-of-the-line S trim, the powertrain is good for 510PS (503hp), but the three-pointed star offers a toned down version with “just” 476PS (469hp).

Power is sent to the rear wheels through an AMG 7-speed MCT transmission, which allows a 0-60 mph sprint in 3.9 seconds for the base model and 3.8 sec for the S. Top speed is electronically limited to 155mph (250km/h) and 180mph (290km/h), respectively.

Deliveries in Europe will begin soon enough, but US customers will have to wait until mid-2016.
