If electric cars eventually dominate the market, as many predict, it’s inevitable that future supercars will follow the same path.

There are already a handful on the market with the likes of the Audi R8 e-tron and Rimac Concept One.

An automotive designer, Antonio Paglia, gave a Mercedes-Benz electric supercar a go.

Dubbed the Mercedes-Benz ELK, the car has been designed in both road-going and track-only guises and it looks the part.

The front is characterized by a fascia that seamlessly combines LED headlights with the faux “intake” grille made of carbon fiber. Aerodynamically efficient wheels have also been fitted inside those bulged fenders and the rear is similar to the front, though its taillights remind us those of the limited edition Lamborghini Veneno.

For the track model, Paglia has added Mercedes-AMG Petronas racing livery, a large front splitter, new wheels, a towering rear wing and a downforce-generating diffuser.
