New Opel GT Concept Stars In Second Video Teaser

Be there or be square is what Opel is trying to communicate with its teasers of the upcoming GT Concept, set for world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

The study, first teased last week, is back in another short film that offers a glimpse into its styling, for a few short seconds, revealing a red tire reminiscent of the Opel motorcycle Motoclub 500, from 1928, when the camera changes focus and the firm’s CEO, Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann says: “Opel has reinvented itself. Don’t miss what happens next.”

Besides the video, Opel has also released an image with its upcoming concept that focuses on the double exhaust tips incorporated in the rear bumper and joined by a small GT badge, in another reference to the Experimental GT this time, “the first concept car ever devised by a European car manufacturer“, presented in 1965 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Opel’s Experimental GT was a modern coupe with a sculptural shape and “the same philosophy now defines the design of the new GT Concept“.

The new Opel GT Concept will preview the company’s future design language, though, we don’t know if the company has any production plans for the car. If they do decide to build it, it should be interesting to see what architecture it will use, considering that its two predecessors came with rear-wheel drive and if Opel will decide to borrow the Alpha platform used on the Cadillac ATS, Chevrolet Camaro and other cars in GM’s lineup.
