Opel broke the ice in the teasing game with the new GT concept less than two months before its official debut.

The study is referred to as “the next major step for Opel” and will introduce the brand’s new sculptural design philosophy.

The company’s CEO, Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann, stars in the first teaser, even though “You will see Opel with a fresh pair of eyes” is all he says.

A second teaser is said to be released on January 21 and full data on of the concept will be released on March 3, at the opening of the Geneva Auto Show.

The “GT” moniker was used by Opel on two several occasions: from 1968 to 1973, on a two-seater sports car inspired by a styling exercise shown three years earlier, and in 2006, on a roadster that was also sold as the Saturn Sky in North America and as the GM Daewoo G2X in South Korea.
