Revealed at last month’s Detroit show, the Precision concept that made its way to Chicago this week does not directly preview a future production model.

Instead, its sole purpose is to give us a peak at Acura’s new design language, which will carry the new grille, probably in a tweaked form, along with some of the technology and lighting, as one of the exterior designers explained in January.

The HMI (Human-Machined Interface), which can scan occupants and select personalized features that include performance settings, audio, maps and other functions, should be adapted to production vehicles that will be added to the luxury brand’s range.

The future might bring other novelties too, as the study is equipped with a micrometer mounted on the column on the steering wheel that’s replacing the traditional speedometer. A large curved screen dominates the center of the dashboard and the cabin includes sports front seats and rear ones inspired by modern lounge furniture.
