Aston Martin One-77 Makes Enthusiasts Go Crazy In Monaco

Remember some old videos where tens of children run after cars? This just happened in Monaco, but it involved adults who wanted to get closer to an Aston Martin One-77.

With their cameras ready and wearing running shoes, petrol heads managed to capture the extremely rare and expensive British machine on video, cruising the streets in Monaco and revving its engine inside the famous Formula 1 tunnel.

The driver of this black supercar enjoyed the attention he was getting from bystanders and slowed down to allow them to take more pictures.

A short history lesson reveals why the One-77 is so popular; it was named the fastest-ever Aston Martin, back when there was no Vulcan to threaten its performance, with a top speed of 220mph (354km/h) and 0-62mph (100km/h) in under 3.7 seconds. Its front mid-mounted 7.3-liter V12 delivers 760PS (749hp) and 750Nm (553lb-ft) of torque to the rear wheels.

Aston presented the One-77 at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, following a preview six months before, in Paris. By the end of its production, in 2012, all 77 units built were already sold out. Its performance and exclusivity took its price through the roof on the “used car market”, with some cars changing hands for as much as $2 million.
