Dieter Zetsche To Remain Daimler CEO Until End Of 2019

Apparently, the powers-that-be in Daimer are more than satisfied with the work done by the company boss, they renewed his contract for another three years,

Dieter Zetsche has been the chairman of the board of management at Daimler since January 1, 2006, and will remain there at least until the end of 2019.

Additionally, he will hold his position as the head of the Mercedes-Benz Cars Division, too.

Discussing the contract extension, chairman of the supervisory board of Daimler AG, Manfred Bischoff said: “Daimler is more successful than ever. This proves that Dieter Zetsche pursues and implements the right strategy not only aligned with the supervisory board. He also can make employees enthusiastic for the demanding targets of the group. With the contract extension we are securing the continuity at the top needed for sustainable success.”

Under the helm of the 63-year old exec, Mercedes-Benz has cemented its position as one of the world’s leading luxury automaker. With ambitious expansion plans that include diversifying the C-Class range and the continued roll out of new-and-improved AMG models, the brand could soon achieve its goal of overtaking BMW as the highest selling luxury carmaker.
