Mercedes has been working on an even faster AMG GT , with our spies catching a very aggressive-looking prototype during some cold weather testing.

Our info says that this is not going to be the Black Series everyone keeps talking about.

Instead, it’s going to be the closest thing to a road-going version of the GT3 race car and will probably wear the GT-R moniker, providing Nissan won’t raise any objections…

The hardcore version of the AMG GT will feature a modified suspension setup, larger brakes, plenty of lightweight materials, as carbon roof and new alloys with wider and stickier tires for better traction.

Well, it’s going to need it as the biturbo 4.0-litre V8 is expected to produce around 550PS (542hp), up from the 503hp the normal AMG GT S makes. This will allow for a 0-62mph time of just over 3.0 seconds.

Bigger air-intakes, a fixed rear spoiler and a wider bodywork is just few of the changes over the regular series model.

Recently Mercedes AMG CEO Tobias Moers revealed that the hardcore AMG GT model will debut during this summer.
