The smallest SUV in Audi’s lineup recently celebrated its world premiere in Geneva, but it seems that its development will not stop with the current versions.

Rumored even before Audi lifted the veils on the Q2, an RS model is said to be in the pipeline, according to a report published by Automobile Magazine.

The French medium says that a future Q2 RS will adopt a four-banger 2.0-liter TFSI engine pushing out around 300 horsepower. As expected from a high-performance vehicle produced by Audi, the RS Q2 will get the firm’s Quattro all-wheel drive, which will channel power through an S Tronic dual-clutch gearbox.

Besides the extra oomph, it will also gain a more aggressive exterior design, two large oval tailpipes and some tweaks made to the cabin, which will add up to a heftier price tag. If the story turns out to be true, then expect the Audi RS Q2 to hit the market by the end of next year or in early 2018.
