Carlex Design Finishes Ferrari 458 Spider Project

After coming out with some sketches of a custom 458 Spider interior, Carlex Design’s final item has undergone some changes.

According to the initial drawings, all that red leather should have been in a darker hue and not as abundant. In reality, the cabin looks more dynamic and there’s a lot more color on the edges of the seats.

Other decorative elements were painted in satin black, including the hand-painted logo on the steering wheel that features a red-on-black background instead of all-black.

Before the mods, this particular example came with a black leather interior, with yellow contrast stitching and yellow logos embedded into the headrests.

The 458 Spider, in spite of being discontinued, is still the type of open-top supercar that would be favored by fans of high-revving, naturally aspirated V8s. Packing 570 PS and 540 Nm of torque (398 lb-ft), it hits 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.4 seconds, before calling it quits at around 320 km/h (198 mph).
