Koenigsegg Returns To Geneva With Production Spec Regera

If last year at Geneva the Regera “megacar” prototype stole the show, this time, the Swedish hypecar was somewhat shadowed by the flamboyant Chiron.

Nevertheless, Koenigsegg revealed the production-spec variant of the Regera with over 3,000 changes made to it in order to get the extravagant machine ready for production. Even so, it seems ready enough to take on the Chiron and even beat it (if its sets its mind to).

That’s because the Regera still develops north of 1,500 hp and 2,000 Nm of torque. That means it takes just 2.8 seconds for the car to go from 0 to 100 km/h (62mph), 6.6 seconds to go from 0 to 200 km/h (124mph) and a blistering 10,9 seconds to pass the 300 km/h (186mph) mark from standstill.

Sure, the launch to 100 km/h is slower than the Chiron’s, but it manages to catch and even pass (theoretically) the French car by 300 km/h.

But raw power and speed aren’t the defining attributes of the Regera, as the vehicle offers a refined driving experience, especially at lower speeds, thanks to the active engine mounts that firm up, changing the dynamic feel of the car. Oh, and it also comes standard with Apple CarPlay.
