McLaren’s 570GT Is A More Relaxed And Comfy Take On The Sport Series

With extra luggage space and a more luxurious cabin, the third addition to the Sports Series lineup made its world premiere today at the Geneva Motor Show.

The most significant upgrade on top of the 570S is the side-opening rear glass hatch, which provides access to a new trunk compartment with a 220-liter capacity, in addition to the 150-liter storage area up front, for a compact-hatch rivaling total of 370-liters.

Natural light enters the cabin through an additional standard fixed panoramic roof and passengers get extended leather upholstery, soft-close doors and electrically adjustable heated seats with memory function.

Woking engineers have tuned the suspension and steering for long-distance traveling, and added a new set of Pirelli P-Zero tires, with Noise Cancelling System. Driving comfort has been improved further with the addition of a quieter exhaust system, compared to the one found on the 570S, and by a reduced suspension spring rate of 15 percent at the front and 10 percent t the rear.

A 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing 570 PS (562 HP) and 600 Nm (443lb-ft) of torque, allows the sports car to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 328 km/h (204 mph).

Prices will begin from £154,000 (equal to $213,700) in the UK and deliveries will begin towards the end of 2016.
