Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe Looks Interesting In The Flesh

The highlight of Mercedes‘s pluralistic New York stand is the new GLC Coupe.

Slotting below the GLE Coupe, which the brand says is “doing just great”, it has the BMW X4 in its sights.

Like other brand new Benz models, the  GLC Coupe will be available from launch as a limited run Edition 1, combining the AMG Line Exterior, with 20-inch light-alloy wheels wrapped in mixed tires, Designo paint finish and bi-color leather upholstery.

It’s still too early for availability and full pricing info, but we do know that North America will only get two gasoline engines, a 241hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder for GLC 300 4Matic and a 362hp 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 for the GLC 43 AMG 4Matic, while Europe will benefit from a wider variety of powertrains, including a number of diesels.

Its amusing when a designer talks about an “obvious” new model like they just reinvented the
wheel. This is the 4-Door Coupe(?) variant of the SUV version. Period. Just a slanted C-pillar
