The French company is recalling 10,649 Zoe EVs to examine the brake hoses which could carry a potential risk of rupture.

The recall is only about cars that were built between the launch in 2012 and October 6 2014, according to Reuters. Renault has built so far 42,300 Zoe models in total.

The company will check the position of certain brake hoses and replace them if necessary. So far there are no accidents reported that have been related to this issue.

The electric Renault Zoe offers an official driving range of 149 miles and is one of the most affordable ways to get into the world of electric motoring. Renault offers the small EV for sale either under a battery hire scheme or buying the car outright.
