After unveiling their 2016 challenger (FW38) approximately two weeks ago, Williams have announced that the car will be receiving a new nose before the Bahrain Grand Prix.

As of right now, the FW38 was presented and tested with last year’s nose, which was part of the reason why some people were disappointed in its appearance. Still, the fact that more changes are coming should make fans a bit more excited. One reason why the new nose wasn’t utilized in Barcelona was the fact that no crash tests were done, however the team is confident they will be completed in time for Bahrain.

Even with last year’s front, during testing, deputy team principal Claire Williams seemed hopeful about her team’s chances of taking the fight to Ferrari and Mercedes.

“I hope so,” stated Williams. “It will be tough. Everyone knows the might of Mercedes and Ferrari and what they are able to put into their programmes is somewhat greater than what we are able to. I believe we have done a good enough job but we won’t know until Melbourne.”

Williams added that the target for this season is to win a race on pure pace, which almost happened last year in Silverstone when poor team strategy cost both Massa and Bottas the chance to be first across the line.
