The three-pointed star continues to develop new versions of the latest-gen E-Class, which will join the likes of the already available saloon.

Besides the E-Class Estate, which is expected to become the second addition to the family this summer, Mercedes-Benz will add a third variant, the Coupe.

Caught on video in the open, the latest member of the executive series refuses to divulge any of its design secrets, keeping them under a mix of camouflage and plastic cladding. However, we already know from previous reports that its front fascia will mirror the one of the E-Class Sedan, while at the rear, it should adopt a different design, which might be inspired by its smaller sibling, the C-Class Coupe.

Open the door and you will find the same dashboard layout as the one already seen on the four-door E-Class, with the large dual screens, while the rear bench, which can accommodate three passengers in the saloon, is expected to be replaced by one suitable for just two.

An exact reveal date hasn’t been announced so far, but its development should be finished this year, while the car is expected to land on US shores by 2017.
