Top Gear is gaining a little brother in the form of the new ’Extra Gear’ show which will show us behind-the-scenes footage of the most popular motoring show as well as extra content.

The new spin-off show will be hosted by Rory Reid and will be filmed immediately after the main show. Each episode will be 30 minutes long, featuring exclusive footage, interviews and special films and will be aired immediately after Top Gear, both on TV and on BBC’s iPlayer.

“The Top Gear fans are some of the keenest in the world and with this show I’m giving them a chance to really get a peek behind the curtain,” said Rory Reid. “I’m looking forward to showing them how the show is made and what goes on behind the scenes, giving viewers a different perspective on some of the coolest cars on the planet.”

With the official debut of the new Top Gear series drawing closer, we still have very limited info on the show’s fresh concept. All we have to do is wait and see.
