Surface-To-Air Drag Race: Tesla Model S P90D vs Boeing 737 Ushers In New Partnership

In order to celebrate their collaboration for driving forward innovation and sustainability in the transport industry, Australian national carrier Qantas and Tesla put together a friendly little drag race.

During the coming months, Qantas and Tesla will offer customers exclusive events for frequent flyers – enabling them to experience new Tesla vehicles and technologies, plus other services such as Qantas Club memberships for Model S owners and a series of High Power Wall Connectors at Qantas Valet facilities in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.

Furthermore, Qantas will now become Tesla’s airline of choice in Australia as regular meetings will continue to occur between the two companies to investigate future opportunities regarding sustainable transport.

“Both our companies are passionate about continuing to push the boundaries of customer service, innovation and sustainability in the transport industry,” said Qantas Head of Environment and Fuel, Alan Milne. “We’re huge admirers of the way Tesla has transformed the electric car sector as a premium brand and we look forward to sharing our understanding and advance the work we started in 2012 on biofuels as an alternative to jet fuel.”

“What better way to celebrate working together than having a unique race – car versus plane,” concluded the Qantas exec who seems to have a generally good idea of what we like to see when talking about cars and planes.
