Toyota has prepped a new X-Cite Special Edition of the new Aygo, which packs a few exterior and interior upgrades on top of the standard A-segment car.

Described as “the most extrovert variant of the range”, the Toyota Aygo X-Cite has a new Yellow Fizz exterior and piano black inserts on the frontal “X” graphic and rear bumper insert, along with Bold Black-finished front fender garnish and side mirror caps. A blacked out roof and Glossy Black 15-inch double-spoke alloy wheels, with Bold Black colored center caps, are also part of the package.

A similar design theme is continued in the cabin where the seat side bolsters have received a Yellow Fizz finish, which can also be found on the air vent inserts, gearshift knob and carpets. The center console, instrument panel and gear lever surround feature Bold Black inserts while the door handles have a chrome look.

The equipment list includes a 7-inch full color x-touch multimedia system, offered at no extra cost, and integrated Rear View Monitoring System, assisting the driver when parking or maneuvering in tight spaces, activating when reverse gear is selected and using a rearview camera that displays an image on the display.

Power comes from a 1.0-liter VVT-I petrol three-cylinder engine, which is Euro 6 compliant, “eats” 3.8 liters/100 km (61.9 mpg US) and emits 88 g/km of CO2. The unit can be combined with a manual gearbox or an automated manual. Toyota will launch the Aygo X-Cite in Europe starting from June.
