By definition, camouflage is any color combo meant to hide objects by blending them in with their surroundings, which may hold true for an Audi A5 standing in front of a wall dressed in the same swirls, but when have you ever encountered this in the real world?

In fact, if we’re talking about Audi specifically, instead of drawing attention to their prototypes on the road with black and white body wraps, the Germans would be way better off if they simply discarded them, as their evolutionary design language offers the best camouflage in the world. Who’d ever take notice?

Heck, we’ve lost count of how many times we had to compare bonnet lines and mirror placements to tell one Audi model apart from the other…

But back to the model in question, Audi’s latest teaser is another reminder for the official presentation of the next-generation A5 Coupe set to take place on June 2, ahead of its public world premiere at the Paris Motor Show later in the fall.

A competitor to the BMW 4-Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe, the A5 will ride on the same platform and use a similar choice of engines as the new A4, so it should be notably lighter (up to 100kg /220 pounds, according to some sources) than today’s model that was introduced back in 2007. Further down the road, the A5 range will include successors to the Convertible and five-door Sportback models, with the latter to be sold in the USA for the very first time.
