TVR Shows-Off iStream Packaging For Upcoming Sports Car [w/Video]

TVR’s rebirth inches closer to reality, as the British car manufacturer plans to unveil the car later this year at an exclusive private event for depositors.

However, the official and public launch will follow in 2017 as planned, and with over 400 deposits already placed, TVR says there are less than 100 vehicles left – as the Launch Edition model will be limited to only 500 units.

The company was present at the London Motor Show, bringing along a 1966 Griffith 400 and also a full size model of the upcoming car used for ongoing development purposes, albeit it was covered up.

Sporting a naturally aspirated, dry-sumped V8 developed and engineered by Cosworth, the future TVR model will also employ Gordon Murray’s iStream innovative packaging (depicted in one of the newly released photos). Don’t get too excited though, as the images are not directly representative of the LE model styling, but TVR’s previous teasers have, somewhat, provided a few clues on how the vehicle will look like.

The iStream Carbon is the world’s first affordable high volume carbon fiber chassis structure bringing Formula One materials and technology within reach of production vehicles. The TVR’s iStream Carbon tub can be spotted from the cutaway, as well as the engine positioning and the type of suspension used.

Prices for the UK are believed to start around £65,000 ($94,200), but a launch edition, which is in the pipeline, will be significantly more expensive, sitting in the “sub-£100,000” range ($145,000).
