Bugatti Chiron Outrageous Options – Or How To “Spent” A Huracan On A Paint

The Bugatti Chiron is in a league of its own when it comes to power and speed, but also meticulous attention to detail. All of this, of course, comes at a price.

We’re not talking about the vehicle’s outrageous price tag, but the optional extras that can raise the bill close to three million dollars.

So, if you wonder how much more exclusive can you get with a 1500 PS and 1,600 Nm (1,180 pound-feet) of torque hypercar that sprints from 0 to 200 km/h (yes, 124 mph) in 6.5 seconds, the answer is “very”.

Thanks to Alexander Salomon, we now have an idea about the Chiron’s monumental standards and a few items of its options list. For instance, if a customer desires a paint scheme with some exposed carbon fiber bits and bobs, Bugatti charges €180,000 ($202,530) – more than a McLaren 570S

And if you think that’s outrageous, a full exposed carbon Chiron will require €255,000 ($287,034). Money that could very well be spent on a Lamborghini Huracan or a Rolls-Royce Ghost and still save approximately $50,000.

In that rarefied atmosphere, that’s a non-issue, for the aforementioned cars are practically small change so they can keep the Bugatti company at the garage any time the Chiron wishes.

It’s like a rolling monument to stupidity.

    • Alborz

      because it’s expensive?

      • Craig

No. Because there is no justification for the price. The Bugatti is made for fools and their money.

        • Alborz

there are a few problems with your comment.
first of all, we justify things based on how much money we have.
for one, buying a top of the line laptop is a no-brainer, because they want the best and they can easily afford it. for others, it’s stupid, because they can’t afford it, and they think of all that can be done with that kind of money.
same story goes here. you’re thinking of all the possibilities of that amount of money because we see the same amount differently as those who can afford a Chiron.
the same way that $1000 spent on a smartphone is viewed very differently by a homeless person.
it’s still $1000, for the homeless person is all the opportunities in the world, for you and I, it’s a smart phone, and for the Chiron owners it’s nothing.
second thing wrong with your comment. If someone has that much money that spending 250K extra just for the paint won’t bother them, I would hardly consider them fools. There’s probably a thing or two they know that we can learn from them.
so simply hating because they can afford it and we can’t would be a waste of time and energy.
if you’re jealous, try working harder and maybe you’ll afford them one day yourself. If you think the price really can’t be justified, try and get some perspective.

            What a stupid reply.

          • Axiom Ethos

If there is demand for it, and people are willing to pay for it, then the price is justified.

            You’re a moron.

          • Zandit75

Maybe to you it is, but more people agree with it than your comment.

The same thing can be said for anything that is not essential. Have you never bought anything that you didn’t need, but just wanted. This level of excess might be hard for you to wrap your head around, it certainly is wild to me. But neither you or I are the center of the universe. And if we take our own feelings out of the equation. Buying something you don’t need is the same ting regardless of the price. Hey! I made a good point without name calling or putting anyone else beneath me! I must be thinking and not feeling 🙂

          • Craig

So if someone paid $12,000 for a bag of popcorn – would you make the same argument?

          • Stephen Baxter

I have have no argument my friend, you are entitled to feel how you want. Just sharing my perspective. I think the prices are outrageous, but you should hear some of the $ no object car fantasies i have 🙂

        • Trackhacker

Agreed, just a pointless toy to take away money from the rich. Companies just keep inflating prices and figuring out ways to have us consumers spend our money.

  • TheBelltower

My problem isn’t so much with the cost of this car, although the cost of some of these options are absurd. The thing that makes a car like this unappealing is how much of a pain in the ass it is to own one. I consider a Bugatti (and a pain-in-the-ass Ferrari for that matter) kind of like I consider a nice boat. The boat that I can truly enjoy the most is… someone else’s property.
