American automakers don’t sell nearly as many cars in Japan as Japanese automakers do in America. But General Motors is aiming to move at least fifteen more Chevy Captivas in the Land of the Rising Sun with the special edition you see here.

Called the Chevrolet Captiva Perfect Black, it’s based on GM’s foreign-market, seven-seater crossover, but upgrades with a murdered-out look. It’s decked out in Carbon Flash Metallic, along with blacked-out, 19-inch wheels and special graphics in silver tones.

The black treatment continues inside, where the black leather seats feature titanium-colored stitching and come heated in the first and second rows. The package also bundles together a Pioneer entertainment system with 10.2-inch rear display, TV tuner and DVD player.

Chevy will only sell 15 of these exclusively in Japan, where each will retail for ¥4,090,000, including consumption tax. That amounts to over $60,000 at current exchange rates, which is about what American buyers would have to spend on a well-optioned Suburban.
