Ford Reveals Upscale Kuga Vignale In Production Form

It was only a matter of time for Ford to show us the final luxed-up production version of its Kuga Vignale, after the company’s reveal of the concept car at the last Geneva Motor Show.

The new Kuga Vignale is the last member of Ford’s premium family, following the Mondeo, S-Max and Edge models.

Painted in an exclusive pearlescent Milano Grigio exterior colour, Kuga’s Vignale version features dark gloss finishes for the front and rear skid plates, door appliques and boot trim while the front grille now has a unique hexagonal mesh.

The hexagonal theme continues into the cabin, with quilted Windsor leather upholstery for the seats with the doors and dashboard also dressed in leather with contrast stitching. Ford says that each Kuga Vignale will be hand-finished by its talented personnel in the Vignale Center in Spain. This includes a close examination of the bodywork for perfect panel alignment to making sure that the paint finish is immaculate.

Ford’s craftsmen will spend more than two hours hand-polishing the paintwork for the perfect finish and also go through all the fine details and stitching of the leather applied in the cabin.

Customers will be able to get a Kuga Vignale with four powertrain options: 150PS (148hp) 1.5-litre EcoBoost with six-speed manual transmission, 182PS (179hp) 1.5-litre EcoBoost with six-speed automatic transmission and AWD, 150PS (148hp) 2.0-litre TDCi with six-speed manual transmission and finally 180PS (177hp) 2.0-litre TDCi with six-speed manual transmission or six-speed Powershift automatic transmission, both with standard AWD.

Ford has launched a dedicated website for Vignale customers where they can explore all the options and use the online configurator to build their personal car. Sales will start later this year, with the bigger Ford Edge Vignale also arriving around the same time.
