The newest addition to Ford’s recently unveiled ST-Line range is the Mondeo ST-Line, boasting sports suspension and styling, unique alloys and a sporty interior.

During the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Mondeo ST-Line will be joining the Fiesta ST-Line and the Focus ST-Line on display, alongside several other performance vehicles, including the new Fiesta ST200 and even the Ford GT Le Mans race car.

“The new Mondeo ST-Line is our sportiest Mondeo since we introduced the Mondeo ST220 model in 2002,” said Ford Europe marketing VP Roelant de Waard. “Mondeo ST-Line adds another dimension to the broad Mondeo line-up that offers options from the fuel-efficient Mondeo ECOnetic and Mondeo Hybrid models, to the exclusive and upscale Mondeo Vignale.”

Customers will be able to order their Mondeo ST-Line in both five-door as well as estate form, with Ford Performance-inspired styling that includes a new gloss black honeycomb design for the upper & lower front grilles, LED daytime running lights, a front bumper lip spoiler and body-colored sculptured side-skirts, sports rear bumper with a high-gloss black diffuser-style insert, silver tailpipe surrounds, ST-Line badging on the front fenders and a unique choice of 18″ and 19″ alloys.

Inside, the sports seats come with unique red stitching, in addition to the perforated leather ST-style steering wheel and black interior door appliques. Manual transmission models will get a sports gear knob, whereas Estates come with a rear roof spoiler as standard. If you go for the five-door version, the rear roof spoiler is only available as an optional extra.

Similar to other models in the ST-Line range, the Mondeo ST-Line can only be ordered with high-power engines, complimenting the enhanced dynamics which result from the car sitting closer to the road by 10 mm (0.4 in).

Available are the 150 PS (147 HP) 2.0-liter TDCi diesel with a six-speed manual or a six-speed PowerShift automatic, as well as the 180 PS (177 HP) version, plus the 210 PS (207 HP) Bi-Turbo 2.0-liter TDCi, the latter only available with the automatic transmission.

In terms of petrol options, there are the 160 PS (157 HP) 1.5-liter EcoBoost (manual & auto) and the 203 PS (200 HP) & 240 PS (236 HP) 2.0-liter EcoBoost units, only available with the automatic.

Those who go for the six-speed PowerShift automatic versions will also get to enjoy steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. It’s also important to note that the Mondeo ST-Line is available with Ford Intelligent All Wheel Drive.
