After being captured on camera almost undisguised on countless occasions, the new generation Porsche Panamera is now the subject of an official teaser video and image.

Partially revealing the shape of the rear clusters that are joined together by an LED strip, with the Porsche lettering underneath, they seem to have been heavily inspired by the ones from the new 718 Boxster/Cayman.

Previous spy shots have revealed a new front-end design and a sleeker profile for the new four-door model, while reports indicate that a 12-inch touchscreen display for the infotainment system will take center stage inside, and physical buttons will be replaced by capacitive ones, mirroring the new Cayenne.

Riding on a new platform dubbed MSB, which will help it shed roughly 200 lbs (90 kg) despite the slightly longer wheelbase, the new Porsche Panamera will gain a fresh family of V6 and V8 turbocharged engines, which will be joined by a plug-in hybrid version, later on. It should be revealed in full this October, at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, and will be followed, early next year, by a shooting brake variant, the Sport Turismo.
