A young Australian driver unwittingly drifted his car in front of a police officer and it was all caught on the dash-cam of a truck driver who broke into a hysterical laughter.

Tow truck driver Paul Eustace was waiting for a red light on Acacia Ridge in Brisbane on Monday when a man in a silver sedan sped through an orange light drifting around a curve before losing control of the car. Little did he know that there was a police van waiting at a red light on the opposite lane.

As soon as the cop turned on his lights and made a U-turn to go after the hoon, Eustace started clapping and laughing uncontrollably. “That’s f***ing karma, that’s f***ing gold!” he’s heard saying in the dash-cam video.

Australia’s 7 News spoke to the hoon who was identified as Jake Patching. “I was just focusing on the orange light and beating the orange light you know, I was like sitting there and saying, ‘no, no it’s not going to go red’, ah, meanwhile it’s orange,” the 24-year old told the reporter. “It got a bit hairy for a second there. I fishtailed one way, I fishtailed the other way. I think I fishtailed the other way again, and then another way, then I spun around twice.”

According to Yahoo News, Patching will appear at court on June 29, facing four charges, including willfully making unnecessary noise or smoke, driving without a license, driving an unregistered vehicle and driving uninsured. His car was also impounded for 90 days.
