Black Mamba Is An Insane 810 HP Electric Trike From Malta

An unknown automaker from Malta dubbed Valene Motors has revealed its plans to launch an electric trike that, in range-topping specification, will pump out no less than 810 HP.

As with the Morgan 3-Wheeler and Polaris Slingshot, Valene’s ‘Black Mamba’ has been designed with two wheels at the front and a single driven wheel at the rear. A small electric motor found within the rear wheel’s hub will provide the power for the entry-level model and will be offered alongside 15 kWh, 30 kWh and 50 kWh battery packs, offering ranges from 180 km and up to 500 km.

The company claims that the Black Mamba will ride on a steel spaceframe chassis and be completed with lightweight composite body panels. While no weight figure has been announced, Valene says that the base variant with 107 hp will reach 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in just 4.2 seconds. Lord knows how fast the 810 hp version will sprint off the line.

Details about the company are hard to come by, including how it plans to fund such an ambitious project, so for now we’re remaining sceptical, but if the Black Mamba does see the light of day in production-guise, it’ll be a nice addition to the club of driver-focused sports cars. Or trikes.

Allow me to be skeptical, to say the least. I’d like to see the production version, I think the base 107 hp model will be interesting. But 810 hp? For real?

Electric motors don’t work the same way as the ICE ones. High HP (kW) figures like that aren’t a problem, you can easily have a small 2000 kW motor in that, but having it powered is – the batteries (autonomy/capacity) are the limiting factor in this case.

As if I didn’t know already!
(no, I didn’t, thank you for the explanation)

  • That Ross Chap

As well as having 810HP, it has paint which makes it invisible on the press of a button and can fly. Seriously, anyone with eyes and a working brain behind them can tell that the 810HP figure is as realistic as my claims.

maybe they’ll imply a tiny nuclear reactor into it? ;P

  • jh

putting a gun to your head gets the same result even faster and cheaper… maybe there is equal thrill involved? anything above 100hp in this is ridiculous and outmost dangerous… plain and simple. only very few will be able to control such a weapon.

The same company introduced the SILEX CREOS 960 a few years ago. Promising to be on the road in 2015. Does anybody remember that dream came true ?

  • XtremWize

With this single rear wheel it’s impossible to handle 810 Hp.

    • jh

one wheel isn’t able to, either, except its twice the size of a lambos rear-tyre 😉
