Nissan has launched the first “special” of the Qashqai since the popular crossover debuted in 2013.

Based on the range-topping Tekna grade, the new Qashqai Black Edition comes with 19in black alloys, Pearl Black metallic paint and front and rear styling bumper plates.

It also comes with a panoramic roof with one-touch shade, a £400 option on Tekna models. Nissan’s standard safety and driver assist systems include Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, Forward Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Warning, Moving Object Detection and Driver Attention Alert.

The interior features black leather upholstery and the company’s integrated seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with DAB radio, navigation and the 360-degree Around View Monitor as standard.

UK customers can get the Qashqai Black Edition with only one engine option, the dCi 110 diesel unit mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. Nissan claims a combined 70.6mpg UK and 103g/km of CO2 emissions.

On sale now in the UK, the Black Edition of the Nissan Qashqai is priced at £27,310.
