Subaru Tecnica International has started taking pre-orders for the new XV Hybrid tS, set to go on sale locally this fall.

Priced from 3,226,400 Yen ($30,599), the SUV is based on the standard XV Hybrid and adds orange highlights on the exterior, which can be seen on the front spoiler lip, side skirts, roof spoiler and 17-inch aluminum wheels. The vehicle also features dark grey grille, black side mirror casings and special STI and tS badging, and it can be had in Crystal White Pearl, Crystal Black Silica and Hyper Blue body colors.

Open the door and you will find the same orange theme on the door armrests and seats, while the latter also feature embossed STI logo and come equipped with heating capabilities in the front. Orange stitching is also part of the package, along with beige door trim, piano black instrument panel and side sill plates with STI logo.

Among the STI-tuned components, the Subaru XV Hybrid tS benefits from flexible tower bar, flexible draw stiffener, strut suspension and coil springs at the front and dampers and coil springs at the rear. Power comes from a 2.0-liter DOHC Boxer engine, rated at 150 PS (148 HP) and 196 Nm (145 lb-ft) of torque, aided by an electric motor; the output is channeled to all four wheels through a CVT transmission.
