The 2017 World Rally Championship can’t come soon enough.

For next year, the championship is set to be the most manic it’s been since the fabled days of Group B, with the cars getting more power, a range of additional aerodynamic aids and more outlandish styling to spice up the already-thrilling sport.

One of the teams furiously developing its entrant for next season is Volkswagen. The current champions recently brought out a camouflaged Polo WRC prototype to the rally stages of Finland with world champion Sebastien Ogier behind the wheel to test out the new car.

By increasing the size of the air restrictor from 33 to 36 mm, next year’s cars will be about 60 hp more powerful while also being about 25 kg lighter. If you’re somehow not a fan of rallying, you’ll probably become one next year.
