A rather intriguing 1958 Chevrolet Corvette has appeared for sale on eBay and according to the owner, it is quite a special example.

The glistening blue Corvette is said to have been rescued from a debris-filled barn where it was left to root for 20 years and for the most part, is original. With that being said, the seller has revealed that the iconic sports car doesn’t have its original eight-cylinder engine which is a shame as the badges indicate that it was an early fuel-injected model.

The owner also says that the car no longer has its original ragtop and instead makes use of an aftermarket one finished in white. To purists and enthusiasts, that is a real blow but to the average joe, the available ragtop does look quite nice. The car is also provided with a color-matched hardtop and despite sitting in a garage for 20 years, appears to have been spruced up quite nicely.

Since being listed online, the car has attracted 57 bids but the current bid of $34,100 is below the reserve.

Returning the car to factory condition could be quite costly, so it’ll be interesting to see what the final sale price is. Stay tuned.
