Corvette Z06 Filmed Crashing Into Tree While Leaving Scottsdale Car Meet

A white C7 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has been left with serious damage after crashing while leaving a late-night car meetup in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The entire scene was captured on camera by other attendees and initially shows the Z06 performing a burnout at a stop scene adjacent to the parking lot where the meetup was being held.

The driver then continues to pin the throttle through the intersection as the rear tires fight for grip. While the road surface appears quite good, the car’s 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of supercharged V8 fury is enough to kick the rear end loose.

With the car careening to the median strip, it appears that the driver overcorrects the slight wobble, steering the Z06 across a lane and into a row of trees by the side of the road.

While the actual moment of impact was only captured by a poor-quality camera, it was evidently quite a brutal crash and enough to severely damage the front-end. As a matter of fact, the front bumper was ripped from the car, leaving with it loads twisted and mangled wreckage across the street.

Thankfully the driver escaped without injury as the necessary airbags did deploy, as reported by Corvette Blogger. As for the car, it will be repairable but at a fairly heft price.

Looks like Mustang owners aren’t the only ones who need some pointers…

  • TOO BAD.

    • Tumbi Mtika

Dumbass deserved it. He’ll get no sympathy from me.

      • jh

well, but we all did something stupid at one time or another in our lives.

        • Tumbi Mtika

  • Craig

I’m surprised it doesn’t happen more often with cars like the Corvette. [Or maybe it does!] EXPECTATIONS can be a dangerous thing. It’s the same reason you see more 4×4’s in the ditch during a snow storm than any other vehicle. [At least where I live] The drivers expected it to be supremely capable. Invincible even!

    • jh

the problem is, they think the same thing about their driving skills..

  • ediotsavant

Wtf is wrong with people today? Car crashes and everyone pulls out their cellphone and films it. No one cares about the idiotic driver.

    • Shobin Drogan

Yeah people can be real selfish, the guy got what he deserve though for driving like a tool.

      • Tumbi Mtika

People need to learn to respect these cars… AND KEEP THE TRACTION CONTROL BUTTON “ON”.

        • jh

no, just learn how to handle such a car properly and understand that this is a real mean machine – not a toy. problem solved. if you need that traction control button on dry pavement, you bought the wrong car. people forget what 600+ bhp actually means and that isn’t too far of real race cars, driven on closed circuits with roll-cages installed on slick tires…

          • Tumbi Mtika

That’s kinda what I was going for with that comment.

          • jh

no offense! i’d just prefer those kind of cars without e-helpers – so even experienced drivers would poop their pants a little driving those things quick in the ‘wild’ 😉 like old lambos, etc. those drivers were somewhat heroes for me (as a child). nowadays they are just show-offs with too much money. (maybe not all, but most – the ones that aren’t would buy an ultima gtr or similar instead).

        • jh

btw. great thing everyone with cash can buy a car from your logo’s manufacturer… 1000+bhp. great idea!

    • Enter Ranting

He had Pokemons in the trunk!

  • CFK

Non car people should play soccer.

  • psiqtas

What a tool-ass… Yeep, as You already know: hi-performance cars don’t kill, low performance driver do!

  • Tumbi Mtika

  • jh

‘you alright, man? you alright?’ then goes on filming the wreck – what a great sport!

  • Bash

Referring to the first pic under the header… (at least he stopped ;))

  • Vassilis

  • Wandering_Spirit

I am really worried about the palm tree…will it survive?

  • Benjamin Corcoran

Bye, TOOL. Enjoy your time in prison.

F*** this guy. There were PEOPLE EVERYWHERE. What a lunatic!

  • Auf Wiedersehen

I love videos showing people getting burned for doing something stupid of showing off. Good thing the tree was there or he might have hit innocent bystanders on the sidewalk.

  • LeftLanePrius

Trees are so strong they should make cars out of them.

  • smartacus

    Was he Russian?

    • jh

why? that’s typical u.s. stuff. if he would be russian he’d probably drive a gt-r. no [email protected] 😉

  • Aj

the Talking Stick Pavilions where this dude wrecked at is a horrible place to drag race. I go there almost every weekend except this one. lol
