The time has come to build your perfect Corvette Grand Sport with Chevy’s brand new configurator.

Launched at Geneva Motor Show, the Grand Sport is the newest addition to the Corvette family, bridging the gap between the 460 hp, 6.2-litre small block LT1 V8 Stingray, and the pumped-up 650 hp 6.2L supercharged, intercooled LT4 V8. In other words, the Grand Sport was the missing link between the normal Corvette and the Z06.

With 14-inch front and 13.4-inch rear rotors, larger than the ones found on the Stingray and even those offered with the optional Z51 performance package, Brembo brakes, sportier suspension tune, and the Z51’s electronically controlled rear differential as standard, the Grand Sport is the Corvette for the driving enthusiast.

The base 1LT variant can be bought for $66,445, but if you want exposed carbon-fiber bits, custom leather-wrapped interior, and suede microfiber upper interior trim (among other options), then the $76,190 3LT is for you.

Add the Z07 Performance Package, with carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes, Z07 suspension with Magnetic Selective Ride Control, and Pilot Sport 2 Cup run flats, and it’s another $7,995 out of your kid’s college fund. And you have to check the Grand Sport Heritage Package, which adds fender hash marks for $795.

The V8 can be mated to either the seven-speed manual with active rev match or an eight-speed automatic with specific performance calibration and paddle shifters.

The configurator has everything to suit one’s taste or wishes when it comes to the Grand Sport, but it doesn’t take too many clicks to surpass the Z06’s $79,400 starting MSRP.
