The latest Ford Focus RS has impressed enthusiasts the world over, but is it good enough to thrill a hypercar owner and noted supercar collector?

YouTuber Alejandro Salomon recently jumped behind the wheel of a newly-delivered Focus RS to find out if the car lives up to the hype by testing it out on the notoriously-crowded city streets of Los Angeles.

While the RS is better suited to canyon carving and track days than it is in dealing with traffic jams, certain basics pros and cons of a hot hatch like this can be judged quite accurately when driving slowly. The quality of the ride for example can be easily tested as can the positivity of the gear shift, the character of the engine and all of the interior trimmings and luxuries.

The Focus RS featured is one of the first we’ve seen not to be painted in the car’s popular shade of Nitrous Blue. Instead, it is painted gloss black and looks rather menacing thanks to the matching black wheels and contrasting blue brake calipers.
