Challenging the likes of the Audi R8 Spyder and Porsche 911 Turbo Cabrio, the Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster has been taken to the Nurburgring for some tire-shredding action.

Some suggest this is the most potent S version, with 510 PS (503 HP) at its disposal, and suggest that it’s actually the entry-level variant, with 462 PS (455 HP.

The prototype carries a folding soft top, which is probably the brand’s way of making sure that it won’t cannibalize the SL. It will nevertheless be interesting to see whether a more hardcore variant of the open-top, such as an R or a Black Series, will follow some time in the future.
