Dozens of automakers have let loose with their Vision Gran Turismo concepts in the past couple of years, presenting us with some of the wildest creations ever adorned with four wheels and in some cases, running engines.

Although it seems that no other firms will jump onboard the Gran Turismo 6 bandwagon, French design student Julien Fesquet has decided to dream up how a Vision Gran Turismo concept could look if it were created by Icona, the maker of the Vulcano.

As with the other cars from the series of outlandish concepts, the Icona Vision GT would never be approved for road use and adopts the form of a futuristic race car.

At the front it includes two sharp splitters, extending out from the front bumper and including active flaps. The short hood flows seamlessly to the open-air cockpit with seating for two in low-slung comfort.

Sitting just behind the passenger cell is the mid-mounted powertrain, somehow suspended between the rear wheels and making way for an open tail. The insane design then continues at the back with a large active spoiler and thin LED taillights.
