The Ferrari 288 GTO is not just a strong coffee replacement; it’s the key to lifelong happiness.

Born out of the Group B’s regulations, the 288 GTO was never actually raced but that doesn’t detract anything from its sheer brilliance.

A twin-turbo 2.8-litre V8 mounted longitudinally sends no less than 400hp to the rear axle via a five-speed manual gearbox. Combine this firepower with a kerb weight of just 1,160kg (2,557 lbs) and Ferrari’s expertise in chassis tuning and what you’re left with is a car that not only is a riot to drive but also the first production car able to reach the magic 300 km/h (186 mph) mark.

And let’s not mention the curvy bodywork which made the 288 GTO one of the most beautiful automobiles ever. Or the fact that only 272 of them were made. Petrolicious fills our ear holes with glorious V12 melodies in their latest film, with the car featured belonging to known Ferrari collector David Lee.
