The company owned by ex-Formula 1 driver Jonathan Palmer could join Jaguar Land Rover in bidding for ownership of Silverstone.

Palmer’s company, MotorSport Vision (MSV) owns and operates five racetracks in Britain alone, including the famed Brands Hatch and is eager to add Silverstone to that list if it gets the chance.

Talking to The Telegraph, Palmer said that the current owners, the British Racing Drivers Club, has yet to invite him to make a bid but if they do, MSV would be eager to strike a deal.

“We are definitely interested in making an offer for Silverstone and have a lot of confidence in our ability to bring a great deal of stability to it and a vision for the future.

“The BRDC hasn’t approached me at all but I’ve told them that I certainly want the opportunity to be invited to put a deal forward. On a number of occasions, I have said that MSV would be interested in running Silverstone,” Palmer confirmed.

Just a few weeks ago, Jaguar Land Rover’s attempts to purchase Silverstone were stifled because rival carmaker Porsche runs a driving center at the facility and has a covenant in its lease that no other manufacturer can use the circuit for more than 45 days a year.
