Two very different cars yet with the same exact amount of horsepower make for quite the interesting drag race.

Naturally, the F-Type R (or any other F-Type for that matter) has very little in common with the Porsche Panamera Turbo S. They both might send power to all four wheels and that power might be more or less the same between them, but other than that, one’s a borderline supercar and the other a super-saloon.

The description of the video states that this Panamera Turbo S has 550 PS, which means we’re dealing with the pre-facelift first-generation model. Still, all that power along with the 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque help it get from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.8 seconds, whereas the F-Type R needs 4.1 seconds, despite weighing considerably less.

In fact, we’re talking about a 340 kg (749 lbs) weight difference that should send the Jaguar flying past the Porsche faster than you can say “This ain’t fair”.

However, what ends up happening is that we’ve got ourselves an extremely competitive drag race. Seriously, it’s really close and at the end you do get the feeling that both cars would have needed a bit more runway in order to settle things properly.
