Now You Can Rent A Ford Escape Promoting A ‘Silicon Valley’ Startup

Want to get the true tech startup experience on your next San Francisco trip by driving something promoting a fictional failed company? Thought so.

Now on Turo, there’s a listing to rent a Ford Escape like the one Erlich Bachman (T.J. Miller) drives on the HBO series Silicon Valley. And you can drive it for $49 per day. If you’re not bothered by some strange circumstances to all of this.

It’s unclear who actually owns the car, something TechCrunch pointed out. There is an Erlich B. registered as a driver on Turo, though. And for the sake of continuity, this is an Escape Hybrid and not the base model Escape that’s been featured on the show since it debuted in 2014. Either this is a very subtle promotion between HBO and Turo, or some Bay Area resident’s elaborate joke.

So instead of going to Avis or wherever and renting a Chevy Spark that was made this year, you can have this aged Ford Escape with extra Bachmanity. And if you do, let us know how it turns out.
